This type of saffron that called Pushal. Pushal is the one of middle quality of other types of saffron.
Pushal Saffron is classified in the category of red & yellow saffron and biggest difference of this type of Saffron with other types is that has red part of filament with little of yellow filaments.
According yellow filaments in this type of saffron, we should not expect too much crocin ( Reason of Color ) from Pushal saffron and this type has in medium average Crocin , Safranal and Picrocrocin in lab reports from others types of saffrons respectively these are reasons of the color, flavor and taste of the saffron. This type has two quality too that classified A quality and B quality.
In fact, the red stigma part of the saffron string is 1 to 3 mm from the yellow cream part. The straw, which is the red stigma attached to the saffron, is accompanied by 1 to 4 mm of cream or yellow root of the saffron flower. Because most of it is saffron cream, its coloring power is about 170 to 250 degrees.
Also, this type of saffron has crocin with a value of about 220 USP and also has red and yellow appearance, which consists of red and yellow strands.
